La Systems Division di Ilapak ha presentato una serie di novità
fra cui spicca una linea completa dedicata al confezionamento ad alta velocità di snack in barretta. E conquista quote di mercato anche grazie alla forza di un servizio capillare e qualificato.

Nata 30 anni fa a Londra - ma la produzione è italiana, la casamadre svizzera e il management internazionale - Ilapak si è affermata nel campo delle macchine per il confezionamento con una gamma completa di soluzioni per i diversi segmenti della domanda. Cinque anni fa, con una decisione di portata strategica, l’azienda ha iniziato a produrre anche linee complete, attivando una nuova divisione ad hoc, chiamata Systems Division e dedicata all’automazione. E lo scorso aprile, nel corso di un’open house dedicata, ha annunciato un ulteriore salto di qualità: accanto ai già affermati sistemi di alimentazione, Systems Division ora presenta la prima linea interamente composta da macchine progettate ex novo, dedicata al flow wrapping ad alta velocità.
Le caratteristiche della linea
La più avanzata delle linee messe a punto in SD integra due confezionatrici Carrera 3000 PC HS con un sistema di alimentazione che semplifica il flusso dei prodotti e ne agevola l’ordinamento.
La Carrera 3000 PC HS è una flow pack elettronica con alimentazione multitappeto integrata, concepita per confezionare prodotti di piccole dimensioni a velocità elevate (la cadenza meccanica è di 1.000 cpm) differenziandosi in ciò dai più versatili modelli elettronici della famiglia Carrera (1000 PC e 2000 PC), adattabili a diverse tipologie di prodotti. L’alimentazione a monte delle due macchine è composta di più elementi che operano in continuo e convogliano automaticamente i prodotti su un’unica via nel caso in cui una delle confezionatrici dovesse fermarsi. Minori fermi di produzione, dunque, mentre la maggior produttività è consentita anche dalle altissime velocità delle funzioni di “no product no bag” e di “misplaced product detection”.
Carrera 3000 PC HS presenta una tecnologia multi-asse controllata da PC ed è attrezzata con 12 motori brushless, PC industriale con processore Pentium in grado di memorizzare fino a 64 specifiche di prodotto, interfaccia operatore amichevole (con accesso ai controlli e pagine dedicate alla diagnosi) e possibilità di produrre statistiche in tempo reale, trasferire dati e controllare in remoto.
Il cuore del progetto è costituito da un’elettronica allo stato dell’arte, che adotta componenti standard di qualità ed è supportata dalla stessa piattaforma collaudata e “amichevole” delle altre macchine Ilapak. Inoltre, la linea non richiede strumenti per l’accesso alle parti durante la pulizia e manutenzione e presenta tutte le sofisticate funzioni che il “rango” richiede, compresi i sistemi automatici di tensionamento e centraggio del film.
Un mercato da conquistare
Il mercato delle linee complete non si apre facilmente ai produttori di “semplici” macchine e nel complesso appare dominato da un numero limitato di aziende storiche. «Per acquisire autorevolezza - considera al riguardo il direttore marketing del gruppo, Paola Ciccocioppo - non bastano né la maturità tecnologica e la capacità di fornire una gamma completa di soluzioni né la qualità del servizio, ma occorre dimostrare ad ogni passo e occasione di essere all’altezza del mercato. Anche per questo siamo particolarmente soddisfatti di poter presentare all’open house una serie di soluzioni già vendute ad altrettanti grossi clienti che vanno ad alimentare la nostra “list of reference”».
L’evento ha anche consentito di comunicare con efficacia che Ilapak è in grado di fornire diversi livelli di automazione con differenti gradi di flessibilità («perché oggi i prodotti cambiano così velocemente che talvolta le stesse multinazionali devono rinunciare alla specializzazione più spinta»).
In più, ha offerto l’occasione di sfruttare il sistema di telecomunicazioni che collega fra loro tutti gli stabilimenti e le principali sedi commerciali del gruppo («i clienti interessati hanno potuto approfondire l’esame anche delle macchine realizzate ad Arezzo o a Lugano») e permette di realizzare videoconferenze e netmeeting.
Così come, peraltro, avviene a livello di assistenza post-vendita, grazie ai sistemi di diagnosi e intervento a distanza installati su macchine e sistemi. |  |
High speed bars
Ilapak’s Systems Division has presented a series of new features among which a complete line for high speed packing of snack bars. And it has managed to conquer market shares also thanks to the force of a capillary and qualified service.
Set up 30 years ago in London - but production is Italian, the parent company Swiss and its management international - Ilapak has won a name for itself in the field of packaging machines with a complete range of solutions for different segments of demand. Five years ago, making a strategic decision, the company also began producing complete lines. And last April, during a dedicated open house, it announced a further leap forward: alongside its already successful feed systems, its Systems Division is now presenting its first line entirely made up of machines designed from scratch, dedicated to high speed flow wrapping.
The characteristics of the line
The most advanced line devised by SD integrates two Carrera 3000 PC HS packaging machines with a feed system that simplifies the flow of products and that makes putting them in order easier. The Carrera 3000 PC HS is an electronic flowpack with integrated multi-belt feed, conceived in order to pack smallscale products at high speed (at strokes of 1,000 ppm), different that is from the more versatile electronic models of the Carrera family (1000 PC and 2000 PC), that can be suited to various types of product. The upstream feed of the two machines is made up of several elements that work continuously and that automatically convey the products into one channel in the event that one of the packaging machines happens to break down or stop. Hence less production stops, while greater productivity is also enabled by the high speed of the “no product no bag ” and “misplaced product detection” functions.
Carrera 3000 PC HS presents a multi-axial technology controlled by PC and equipped with 12 brushless motors and industrial PC with Pentium processor capable of memorizing up to 64 product specifications, friendly operator interface (with control access and page dedicated to diagnosis) and the possibility of producing statistics in real time, transfer data and control operations remotely.
The heart of the program is made up of a state-of-the -art electronics, that adopts quality standard componentry and is supported by the same tried and tested “friendly platform” of the other Ilapak machines.
As well as that the lines do not require tools for access to the parts during cleaning and maintenance and present all the sophisticated functions that the “row” requires, including automatic film stretching and centring systems.
The market to be conquered
The market of complete lines does not easily open up to producers of “simple” machines and overall appears dominated by a limited number of longstanding companies. «To gain oneself a reputation - marketing head of the Group Paola Ciccocioppo considers - neither technological maturity nor the capacity to supply a complete range of solutions nor quality of the service is enough, but you have to be able to demonstrate at every step and every turn you are up to satisfying the demands of the market. This is also why we are particularly satisfied to be able to present a series of solutions already sold to other large customers that can be seen as an addition to our “list of references”».
The event has also enabled us to communicate to effect that Ilapak is capable of supplying different levels of automation with different degrees of flexibility («because today the products change so quickly that at times even the multinationals have to relinquish on extreme forms of specialisation») and, what is more, the open house offered the opportunity to exploit the telecommunication systems that link the works with the main commercial offices of the group («customers were also able to further examine the machines made at Arezzo and Lugano») and that enable the holding of video conferences and netmeetings.
As what is more happens at the level of post-sales assistance, thanks to the remote diagnosis and servicing systems installed on machines and systems. | | | |
Una struttura articolata
Ilapak è composta da quattro entità produttive specializzate per tipologia di macchine. Due, situate a Nova Milanese, sono dedicate alle flow pack orizzontali di bassa e media velocità (fino ai 200-250 cpm) e alla Systems Division (dove si costruiscono automazioni e macchine per bustine a quattro saldature, per zucchero, tè e affini), la terza, a Lugano, sviluppa le macchine per il confezionamento in atmosfera modificata (per prodotti food e non food, come ad esempio le applicazioni wet wipe) e nello stabilimento di Arezzo si realizzano le confezionatrici verticali. Due linee minori completano la gamma Ilapak, che produce anche macchine stretch (a marchio “Targa”) e le cosiddette multipurpose, ossia le orizzontali che realizzano buste di lunghezza variabile in funzione del prodotto, utilizzate per esempio nell’ortofrutta. Altrettanto articolata, da alcuni anni la struttura commerciale sta seguendo con particolare impegno l’ex blocco sovietico, dalla sede di Mosca e dalle filiali dirette di Polonia e Ungheria (gli altri paesi vengono “coperti” da una rete di agenti). Una presenza così capillare, unitamente alla vivacità della crescita economica dell’area, stanno producendo ottimi risultati commerciali, sostenuti da un servizio di assistenza radicato, anche culturalmente, nel territorio.

An articulated structure
Ilapak is made up of four works specialised per type of machine: Two situated at Nova Milanese, being dedicated to horizontal flowpack of low and medium speed (up to 200-250 ppm) and at the Systems Division (where automatons and machines for sachets with four seals, for tea, sugar and the like are constructed), the third at Lugano, develops machines for packaging in modified atmosphere (for food and non food products, as for example applications of wet wipes) and in the works at Arezzo vertical packaging machines are made. Two minor lines complete the Ilapak range, that also produces stretch machines (under the “Targa”) and the socalled multipurpose, or that is horizontal machines that make bags of variable length depending on the product, used for example for fruit and vegetables. Equally articulated, for some year now the trade structure is following the ex Soviet block, from its offices in Moscow and its direct branches in Poland and Hungary (the other countries are “covered” by a network of agents). A capillary presence, due also to the lively economic growth of the area, producing excellent commercial results, backed up by an assistance service that is rooted, also culturally, in the area where it operates.
