Cilindri compatti guidati
I cilindri compatti guidati serie QC della Camozzi sono ideali per l’impiego in spazi molto ridotti e in quelle applicazioni dove l’antirotazione deve essere garantita. La serie prevede due versioni, una con bronzine a strisciamento (QCT) e l’altra con manicotti a ricircolo di sfere (QCB). I QCT sono adatti per applicazioni nelle quali i carichi laterali siano molto elevati. I QCB sono ideali per applicazioni che necessitano di elevata precisione e velocità uniforme.
Entrambe le versioni sono dotate di ammortizzatore meccanico anche se è consigliabile evitare che il pistone vada in battuta contro le testate. Lo studio accurato del profilo di questi cilindri consente il montaggio di sensori a scomparsa su entrambi i lati e il fissaggio del cilindro stesso dall’alto, dal basso, lateralmente e tramite scanalatura a T.
Guided compact cylinders
The Camozzi QC series of guided compact cylinders are ideal for use in small spaces and in those applications where antirotation has to be guaranteed. The series provides two versions, one with sliding bronze bearings (QCT) and the other with recirculating ball sleeves (QCB). The QCTs are suited for applications where the sides are placed under high pressure. The QCBs are ideal for applications that require high precision and uniform speed. Both versions come with mechanical shock-absorbers even if the piston shouldn’t be made to hit the head. The precision design of the cylinders enables the assembly of pop-up sensors on both sides and the clamping of the cylinder from above, below, on the side and by way of T fluting.

Gruppo X di X Gruppo, di Venezia, specializzato nella trasformazione (rivestimento, accoppiamento e stampa) di materiali cellulosici e film plastici realizza il packaging finale partendo dall’engineering dei processi tecnologici. La società veneta non si limita a eseguire studi di fattibilità, ma affianca il reparto R&S delle aziende che intendono sviluppare industrialmente le tecnologie da lei ideate.
Dalla collaborazione con una cartiera, ad esempio, è nato Mould Paper, un nuovo tipo di carta con elevata resistenza alla rottura e all’allungamento longitudinale e trasversale, che può essere rivestita con qualsiasi tipo di polimero o accoppiata con film o alluminio. Costituita da pura cellulosa priva di cloro, con approvazione FDA/BGVV, è disponibile in grammature di 70, 100, 150, 200 e 275 g/m2. Le proprietà barriera e saldanti vengono di volta in volta messe a punto a seconda delle esigenze del cliente. Mould Paper, coperta da quattro brevetti, è da tempo utilizzata a livello industriale su macchine termoformatrici Unifill, Multivac, Tiropack e da blisteratrici nel settore farmaceutico, ma può essere impiegata per altri prodotti, come ad esempio latte, succhi, salse, formaggi e affettati, cioccolato, pizza, saponi, dentifricio.
Thermoformed paper
Gruppo X di X Gruppo, Venice, that specialises in the conversion (coating, laminating and printing) of cellulose materials and plastic film, makes final packaging starting off from the engineering of the technological processes. The company does not stop at making feasibility studies, but works alongside the R&D section of the companies that intend industrially developing the technologies of the Group’s invention.
For example, Mould Paper, a new type of paper with high longitudinal and cross breakage and stretch resistance that can be covered with any type of polymers or laminated with film or aluminium was created co-working with a paper producer. Made up of pure chlorine-free cellulose with FDA/BGVV approval, it is available in a basis weight of 70, 100, 150, 200 and 275 g/m2. Barrier and seal properties are especially devised on each occasion to suit the individual customer’s needs. Mould Paper, covered by four patents, has for some time now been used at an industrial level on Unifill, Multivac and Tiropack thermoforming machines and by blistering machines in the pharmaceutical sector, but it can be used for other products such as for example milk, juices, sauces, cheeses and cold cut meats, chocolate, pizza, soap and toothpaste.
| Nuova flexo ad asse elettronico
Valmet Rotomec - presente in Drupa con le altre società del gruppo Valmet Converting: Valmet Atlas e Valmet General - ha esposto numerosi modelli di macchine per la stampa rotocalco e flessografica, fra cui due versioni di spicco della rotativa Rotopak serie 4000 ad asse elettronico (la 4000-2 è disponibile anche con asse meccanico) e la flexo Rotomec CI 401 ES. Presentata per la prima volta, questa macchina adotta la tecnologia dell’asse elettronico già collaudata sulle rotative rotocalco, usa motori indipendenti e raggiunge la velocità di 350 m/min.
Molte le operazioni completamente automatiche, fra cui il cambio automatico colori, il cambio inchiostri e lavaggio, la regolazione della viscosità secondo i valori di pre-set. In più, la macchina è stata progettata e costruita per migliorare le condizioni di lavoro dell’operatore.
New flexo with electronic axis
Valmet Rotomec - present at Drupa with the other companies of the Valmet Converting group: Valmet Atlas and Valmet General - displayed numerous models of rotogravure and flexographic printing machines, among which two top versions of the Rotopak 4000 electronic axis series (the 4000-2 is also available with mechanical axis) and the Rotomec CI 401 ES flexo.
Presented for the first time, this machine adopts the technology of the electronic axis already tested on the rotogravure presses, uses independent motors and reaches the speed of 350 m/min.
Many of its operations are completely automatic, among which the automatic color change, the ink change and washing and the viscosity regulation according to preset figures. What is more the machine has been designed and built to improve the working conditions of the operator.

Qualicon, controllata da DuPont, ha aperto un laboratorio in grado di determinare la percentuale di materiali geneticamente modificati nei prodotti alimentari, in particolare a base di mais e soia. Esso è situato nella “DuPont Experimental Station” a Wilmington (Delaware, USA), sede centrale della Ricerca & Sviluppo di DuPont.
Il servizio di DuPont Qualicon, a cui possono accedere anche le aziende italiane, consentirà all’industria alimentare di controllare, a costi limitati, le fasi di produzione e di conformarsi con i requisiti di etichettatura richiesti in alcuni mercati. DuPont Qualicon sviluppa e commercializza apparecchiature e servizi per analisi microbiologiche che utilizzano l’informazione genetica per risolvere problemi di sicurezza e qualità affrontati dalle industrie alimentari, farmaceutiche, università e istituti di ricerca.
OGM laboratory
Qualicon, controlled by DuPont, has opened a laboratory capable of gauging the percentage of genetically modified material in foodstuffs, in particular sweetcorn and soya based foods. It is situated in the “DuPont Experimental Station” at Wilmington (Delaware, USA), headquarters of DuPont R&D. DuPont’s Qualicon service, also available to Italian companies, will enable the food industry to check, at limited cost, the production phase and to conform to the labeling requisites laid down in some markets. DuPont Qualicon designs and trades devices and services for the microbiological analysis that use genetic information for solving problems of safety and quality faced in the food and pharmaceutical industries, in universities and research institutes.

Stromag Marzorati è una società commerciale con esperienza nell’ambito dei sistemi e componenti per la tecnica delle trasmissioni. Distribuisce sia prodotti costruiti in Germania, sia quelli costruiti su licenza in Italia. La nuova serie di azionamenti DriveStar è caratterizzata da dimensioni estremamente ridotte e dalla possibilità di correzione e visualizzazione parametri tramite display a bordo macchina. Attualmente sono disponibili gli azionamenti fino a 9 kW (dimensioni: L 85 x P 256 x H 330 mm) che saranno affiancati dalla vecchia serie che raggiunge potenze fino a 100 kW. Con lo stesso modulo possono essere controllati motori brushless, asincroni in anello chiuso (vettoriali) e in anello aperto. La parametrazione può avvenire anche mediante un programma di gestione sotto Windows ‘95, da PC con collegamento seriale RS232.
Amplifier module
Stromag Marzorati is a commercial company with experience in the field of system and shafting components. It distributes products built in Germany and, on license, in Italy. Its new series of amplifier module DriveStar features extremely reduced size and the possibility of correcting and viewing the parameters via the onboard display. These drives are currently available in versions up to 9 kW (85x256x330H mm), to be flanked by the old series for power rates up to 100 kW. The same module can be used to control brushless motors, field-oriented asynchronous motors (with feedback) and standard asynchronous motors (without feedback). The parameterisation can also be by command program in Windows ‘95, by PC with RS232 serial connection.
| Più barriera per il PET
All’NPE 2000 (Chicago, 19-23 giugno), Sidel presenta in anteprima mondiale una macchina per il trattamento barriera Actis 20 in linea con una soffiatrice SBO 8 serie 2. Il procedimento Actis™ conferisce alle bottiglie di PET proprietà barriera eccezionali (la barriera all’ossigeno sarebbe superiore fino a 30 volte, e quella al CO2 fino a sette volte rispetto a una bottiglia di PET monostrato non trattata), aprendo così il mercato dei liquidi sensibili, primo fra tutti la birra. Il trattamento Actis opera in condizioni di vuoto medio (10-1 mbar) e consiste nell’introdurre nella bottiglia dell’acetilene, trattato con tecnologie al plasma per ottenere un deposito interno di carbonio amorfo che protegge il contenuto dagli scambi gassosi e da migrazioni di ogni tipo. L’idoneità al contatto con gli alimenti è già stata validata in Europa ed è in fase di valutazione presso l’FDA statunitense. Riciclabili, tali bottiglie possono essere utilizzate per produrre nuovi contenitori per alimenti.
More barrier for PET
At NPE 2000 (Chicago 19-23 June), Sidel gave a world preview of its Actis 20 machine for in-line barrier treatment with a series 2 SBO 8 blower. The Actis™ procedure confers exceptional properties on PET bottles (the oxygen barrier is said to be 30 times, and the CO2 up to seven times greater than a non-treated monolayered PET bottle), thus opening up the sensitive liquids market, first and foremost beer. The Actis process works in average vacuum conditions (10-1 mbar) and consists in the introduction into the bottle of acetylene, treated with plasma technology, so as to obtain inner amorphous carbon deposits that protect the content from gaseous exchanges and migration of all types. Its suitability for contact with foodstuffs has been validated in Europe and is in the phase of validation with the American FDA. Recyclable, the bottles can be used to produce new containers for foodstuffs.
| Rivestimento al plasma
La società svizzera Instant Surface Technology ha messo a punto una nuova tecnologia al plasma che permette di applicare, a pressione atmosferica, un sottile rivestimento barriera nelle pareti interne dei contenitori di PET. Il processo IST si differenzia dalle tecniche lanciate da Sidel e Tetra Pak perché il coating barriera non viene depositato nelle bottiglie di PET tramite tecnologia al plasma sottovuoto. Con il processo IST, le bottiglie vengono infatti fatte ruotare di fronte a una scarica elettrica. Il tasso di deposito dello strato barriera di SiOx puro al loro interno supera i 70 Angströms/s. Non necessitando quindi di attrezzature per la deposizione sottovuoto dello strato barriera, la tecnologia esclusiva IST risulta competitiva rispetto a quelle finora utilizzate, sia in termini di costi che di semplicità di gestione.
Maggiori dettagli del nuovo processo verranno discussi, per la prima volta in pubblico, in occasione del convegno Nova-Pack Europe 2000, organizzato da Schotland Business Research per il 26 e 27 settembre a Neuss, in Germania.
Plasma coating
Instant Surface Technology of Switzerland has developed a new proprietary plasma technology which enables a thin barrier coating to be applied to the interior of a PET container at atmospheric pressure. The IST atmospheric pressure plasma process differs from the recently launched processos of Sidel and Tetra Pak, in which an inner barrier coating is deposited on PET bottles through a vacuum plasma process. In the IST process, a PET bottle is rotated in front of an electrical discharge. The deposition rate of the pure SiOx thin barrier layer applied to the interior of the bottle is superior to 70 Angstroms per second. By avoiding the use of expensive vacuum equipment required in vacuum deposition processes, the unique IST technology has the potential to be less complex and cheaper than the competitive vacuum coating technologies.Details of the IST process will be disclosed for the first time at any international public forum at Nova-Pack Europe 2000 on 26-27 September 2000 in Neuss, Germany, organized by Schotland Business Research.

Coccato & Mezzetti ha brevettato un procedimento denominato BIO.PL.A. che consente di accoppiare, senza l’impiego di collanti o leganti, materiali naturali come carta, cartone e tessuto a uno strato di Mater-Bi, ottenendo un prodotto biodegradabile al 100%.
L’accoppiato così ottenuto trova un’interessante applicazione nell’abbigliamento monouso da lavoro della Coccato & Mezzetti, consentendo di realizzare indumenti antistatici, idrorepellenti, sterilizzabili ai raggi Beta, ma viene utilizzato anche nel settore alimentare (piatti, bicchieri e contenitori monouso), del confezionamento alimentare (gelati e surgelati), dell’imballaggio industriale, ecc. Tutti i manufatti realizzati con BIO.PL.A. possono essere smaltiti come frazione organica dei rifiuti solidi urbani, per compostaggio o per anaerobiosi/aerobiosi, o inceneriti senza rilasciare residui metallici.
“Green” materials
Coccato & Mezzetti have patented a process called BIO.PL.A. that lets one laminate natural materials such as paper, cardboard and fabric to a layer of Mater-Bi without the use of glues or binders, resulting in a 100% biodegradable product. The actual laminate finds an interesting application in throw-away work clothes produced by Coccato & Mezzetti, making it possible to create anti-static, waterproof and Beta ray sterilised items of clothing. But it can also be used in the food sector (plates, glasses and single-portion containers), food packing (ice-cream and frozen food), industrial packaging, etc. All items produced using BIO.PL.A. technology can be disposed off as an organic substance in solid urban waste collection, composting or anaerobiosis/aerobiosis, or simply incinerated without leaving any metal residues.

Alfacod, noto distributore italiano di hardware e sistemi integrati per l’identificazione automatica dei prodotti, ha progettato un sistema per la stampa e applicazione automatica di etichette, Alfajet 3000/170. Ideato per soddisfare le esigenze degli ambienti più difficili, può essere disposto su qualsiasi lato della linea e applicando etichette su qualsiasi faccia dell’imballo. Come optional è possibile montare un motorino di srotolamento per le bobine di carta, permettendo di caricare rotoli di grosse dimensioni e peso elevato (4-5 kg).
L’unità di controllo è costituita da un rack che racchiude scheda CPU e PLC che governano corrispondenza e sincronismo degli automatismi interni ed esterni del sistema.
La velocità di stampa è di 25-30 colpi/min, con braccio a tampone, e di 60-70 colpi/min per applicazioni a spellicolamento diretto. Alfajet 3000 può stampare anche grandi etichette fino ad una larghezza di 180 mm e lunghezza di 300 mm, sia con risoluzione di 203 che di 300 dpi.
Label printing
Alfacod, wellknown Italian hardware and integrated systems distributor for the automatic identification of products, has designed a system, Alfajet 3000/170, for the automatic printing and application of labels. Created to satisfy the needs of a whole variety of sectors, the system can be placed on any side of the line, applying labels to any face of the pack. As an optional an unwinder motor for the reels of paper can be mounted, enabling the loading of large, heavy rolls (4-5 kg).
The control unit is made up of a rack that contains CPU and PLC boards that govern the correspondence and synchronisms of the devices inside and external to the system.
Print speed is 25-30 strokes/min, with tampon arm, and 60-70 strokes/min for direct film peal applications. Alfajet 3000 can also print large labels up to 180 mm broad and 300 mm long, both with 203 resolution and with 300 dpi.
