CARTA: RECUPERO E RICICLO - Da sempre espressione di una forte coscienza ambientale, il recupero e riciclo dei rifiuti di cellulosa è un dato di grande rilevanza anche da un punto di vista strettamente economico. È dunque essenziale, per tutta l’industria cartaria, essere costantemente aggiornati sugli sviluppi tecnologici in grado di aumentare la quota di materiale recuperato, ottimizzare le procedure di riciclo e migliorare la qualità complessiva della cellulosa riciclata. A questo scopo, IPE (Istituto Papelero Español), in collaborazione con Centre Technique du Papier (F) e Papiertechnische Stitung (D) si è fatto promotore di New Developments in Paper Recycling Technology, simposio internazionale in programma a Barcellona (E) dal 19 al 20 maggio. L’evento, ricco di contributi da parte del mondo dell’industria (su tutti, Metso Paper e Air Liquid) e della ricerca, partecipa alla Dichiarazione Europea sul Recupero della Carta. Paper: Recovery and Recycling - Recovery and recycling of cellulose waste, which has always been an expression of strong environmental awareness, is an important fact even from a strictly economical point of view. It is therefore essential for all of the paper industry to be constantly updated on technological developments that can increase the quota of recovered material, optimize the recycling procedure and improve the overall quality of recycled cellulose. To attain this goal, IPE (Istituto Papelero Español), in cooperation with the Centre du Papier (France) and Papiertechnische Stiftung (Germany) has made itself the promoter of New Developments in Paper Recycling Technology, an international symposium scheduled at Barcelona (Spain) on the 19th and 20th of May. The event, rich in contributions by the world of industry (above all, Metso Paper and Air Liquid) and research, partakes in the European Declaration on Paper Recovery. 17-21 maggio Evoluzione ad alta risoluzione È alle porte Intel 2005, 19ª edizione dell’importante rassegna internazionale di elettrotecnica, elettronica, illuminazione, automazione industriale, sicurezza e componentistica organizzata da Fiera Milano Tech SpA. L’evento, che coinvolge tutte le principali aziende del settore, è articolato in cinque aree tematiche: • World Light Show è la rassegna internazionale di illuminazione, vetrina di prestigio per ogni tipologia di prodotto legata al mondo della luce. • Building Show offre una panoramica completa delle migliori tecnologie destinate agli edifici, dal materiale di installazione elettrica ai sistemi di sicurezza, dalle soluzioni di homevolution a quelle di building automation. • Power Show, punto d’incontro per il settore dell’energia elettrica (sia da fonti convenzionali che alternative), presenta prodotti e sistemi per l’intero ciclo della produzione, trasmissione e distribuzione dell’energia. • Factory Show, dedicata all’automazione di fabbrica e di processo, è l’unica mostra internazionale di questo tipo organizzata in Italia negli anni dispari. • Components Show rappresenta uno degli appuntamenti più importanti, in Europa, per il settore della componentistica e subfornitura per apparecchi domestici, elettromeccanica ed elettronica. Intel 2005 ospita inoltre la quarta edizione del Premio Intel Design, destinato alle soluzioni più interessanti, tra quelle esposte in fiera, nelle due categorie Innovazione e Design. Il concorso, lo ricordiamo, è patrocinato da ADI (Associazione per il Design Industriale), ICSID (International Council of Industrial Design Societies) e Triennale di Milano. 17th-21st May High resolution development Intel 2005, the 19th edition of the important international electrotechnical, electronics, illumination, industrial automation, security and componentry show organised by Fiera Milano Tech SpA, is close at hand. The event, involving all the key businesses of the sector, is arranged according to five subject areas: • World Light Show is the international illumination event, a prestige showcase for displaying every product typology related to the world of lighting. • Building Show offers a complete range of the best construction technologies, from electrical installation material to security systems, from solutions for homevolution to those for building automation. • Power Show, a meeting point for the electrical energy sector (of both conventional and alternative sources), presents products and systems for the entire cycle of energy production, transmission and distribution. • Factory Show, dedicated to factory and processing automation, it is the only international exhibition of its kind to be organized in Italy in an “odd” year. • Components Show is one of the most important rendezvous, in Europe, for component production and sub-supplies for domestic appliances, electromechanics and electronics. Intel 2005 also hosts the fourth edition of the Intel Design Prize, intended for the most interesting solutions, including those displayed at the fair under the two categories of Innovation and Design. We should remember that the competition is under the patronage of ADI (Italian Industrial Design Association), ICSID (International Council of Industrial Design Societies) and the Milan Triennale. 7-9 giugno Non tessuti per tutti All’insegna del motto “Focussing on Innovation”, si terrà a Frankfurt am Main l’undicesima edizione di Techtextil, salone internazionale dei tessili tecnici e dei tessuti non tessuti. Si tratta di un evento di rilievo per l’industria di riferimento, come evidenziano i dati in crescita sia per quanto riguarda il numero di espositori (già a gennaio si contavano ben 620 iscritti da 39 nazioni) sia per quanto riguarda la superficie espositiva occupata, a proposito della quale si registra l’aggiunta di due padiglioni. Tra gli elementi di maggior interesse di quest’edizione si segnala l’attenzione rivolta a tre settori di applicazione dei tessili tecnici, rappresentati da altrettante aree tematiche: Buildtech (cemento come rinforzante per tessuti, costruzioni leggere e membrane), Medtech (medicina) e Mobiltech (veicoli). Ampio spazio sarà in ogni caso dedicato anche agli altri comparti di utilizzo tradizionali: Packtech (packaging); Agrotech (agricoltura e orticoltura); Clothtech (abbigliamento e calzature); Geotech (ingegneria civile); Hometech (tappeti e complementi per la casa); Indutech (sistemi di pulizia, filtraggio etc.); Oekotech (sistemi per il riciclo e la protezione ambientale); Protech (protezione di beni e persone) e, per finire, Sporttech (attrezzature e abbigliamento per lo sport). 7th- 9th June Non-woven materials for everyone Scheduled to take place in Frankfurt am Main, under the motto “Focussing on Innovation”, the eleventh edition of Techtextil, the international technical textiles and non-woven materials show. An event of great importance to the whole industry in question, as highlighted by the growing figures not only in terms of the number of exhibitors (January already counted a good 620 participants from 39 nations) but also in terms of exhibition space taken up, to which the addition of two pavilions should be added. Among the elements of greatest interest at this edition attention is paid to three sectors that employ technical textiles, represented by as many subject areas: Buildtech (cement for reinforcing material, light constructions and membranes), Medtech (medicine) and Mobiltech (vehicles). In any case, space will also be dedicated to the other, traditional, sectors of use: Packtech (packaging); Agrotech (agriculture and horticulture); Clothtech (clothing and footwear); Geotech (civil engineering); Hometech (carpets and home furnishings); Indutech (cleaning systems, filtering, etc.); Oekotech (recycling and environmental protection systems); Protech (protection of goods and of the person) and, lastly, Sporttech (sports equipment and clothing). 26-28 settembre Un cicerone digitale Si avvicina l’appuntamento con Pack Expo Las Vegas 2005, evento principe negli USA per quanto riguarda l’industria del packaging. La manifestazione, organizzata come di consueto dall’associazione statunitense PMMI (Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute), si svolgerà in contemporanea con Food Processing Machinery EXPO e presenterà macchine, materiali, componenti e prodotti finiti di oltre 1200 espositori, su un’area di circa 50.000 m2. Per agevolare la partecipazione all’evento, e per permettere ai visitatori di meglio programmare e gestire la propria presenza in fiera, PMMI ha realizzato, in collaborazione con BDMetrics (Baltimora, USA), My PackExpo. Si tratta di un pratico software tool, a disposizione di tutti i visitatori registrati e in grado di svolgere ricerche mirate all’interno del database di Pack Expo Las Vegas, selezionando i dati di maggiore interesse (nomi, prodotti, conferenze) a seconda delle preferenze espresse dall’utente al momento della registrazione. 26th-28th September Digital tour guide The rendez-vous with Pack Expo Last Vegas 2005 is fast approaching, and is a key event for the packaging industry in the USA. The display, organized, as is customary, by the US Company PMMI (Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute), will take place contemporaneously with Food Processing Machinery EXPO and will display machines, materials, components and end products of over 1200 exhibitors, over an area of around 50.000 m2. My PackExpo, created by PMMI in cooperation with BDMetrics (Baltimore, USA), is for ease of participation at this event, and allows visitors to best plan and manage their own movements at the fair. My PackExpo is a practical software tool, available to all registered visitors and can carry out searches within the Pack Expo Las Vegas database, selecting whichever data is of greatest interest to the customer (names, products, conferences) according to preferences stated upon registration. 4-6 ottobre Piani a lungo termine Mancano ancora quattro mesi all’inizio di Interplas 2005, e Reed Exhibitions ha già prenotato gli spazi per l’edizione 2008. La decisione è stata presa sulla scorta dei numeri previsti per l’edizione 2005, che hanno spinto l’ente organizzatore del principale evento britannico per l’industria della plastica e della gomma a considerare anche l’opportunità di due eventi “complementari” nel 2006 e 2007. Interplas 2005, lo ricordiamo, potrà contare - tra le altre cose - sul sostegno delle principali istituzioni del settore e sulle sinergie legate allo svolgimento in contemporanea del Penton Media Manifacturing Exhibitions. 4th-6th October Longterm plans There are still four months to Interplas 2005, and Reed Exhibitions has already booked the spaces for the 2008 edition. The decision was taken on the basis of the numbers forecast for the 2005 edition, numbers that have thrust the organizing body of the main UK event for the plastic and rubber industry to also consider the opportunity of two “complementary” events in 2006 and 2007. Interplas 2005 could among other things count on the support of the main institutions of the sector and on the synergies provided by its being held at the same time as Penton Media Manufacturing Exhibitions. 6-10 novembre 2006 Nuovo appuntamento per l’imballaggio Kölnmesse ha annunciato la nascita di Pacovent, fiera specializzata dedicata a materiali e tecnologie per la produzione e lavorazione degli imballaggi. L’evento, che avrà cadenza triennale, intende presentare in modo esaustivo lo stato dell’arte di un settore innovativo e dalle buone prospettive di crescita come quello della produzione degli imballaggi. A questo scopo, la nuova manifestazione darà spazio non solo alle macchine e ai sistemi necessari alla realizzazione dell’imballaggio vero e proprio, ma anche a tecnologie “preliminari”, come quelle relative alla produzione di semilavorati. La gamma di soluzioni presenti a Pacovent comprenderà poi macchine e apparecchi ausiliari, sistemi di monitoraggio della produzione, attrezzature per il magazzino e tecnologie per la tutela dell’ambiente. I partecipanti alla “premiere” del nuovo evento (in programma nel 2006) avranno inoltre modo di usufruire del nuovo complesso fieristico, di cui Kölnmesse disporrà proprio a partire dal 2006. 6th-10th November 2006 New rendez-vous for packaging Kölnmesse has announced the creation of Pacovent, a specialty fair dedicated to materials and technologies for the production and manufacture of packaging. The event, to take place every three years, will have a complete presentation of state-of-the-art products of an innovative sector which, like packaging production, has good prospects for growth. For this purpose, the new show will not only offer space for machines and systems required for the actual creation of packaging, but also for “preliminary” technologies, like those for the production of semifinished products. Lastly, the range of solutions on display at Pacovent will also include machines and aids, production monitoring systems, warehouse equipment and environment-monitoring technologies. The participants at the new event’s “première” (planned for 2006) will furthermore be able to avail themselves of the new trade show complex, which Kölnmesse will have at its disposal from 2006 onwards. NANOMATERIALI PER IL FUTURO - Per meglio comprendere (e gestire) i nuovi scenari applicativi prospettati dalle nanotecnologie, Pira propone Future of Nanomaterials (Londra, 29-30 giugno), conferenza di tre giorni interamente dedicata alle strategie di mercato più adatte a far “fruttare” l’avveniristica tecnologia. L’evento fornirà infatti un quadro sintetico e completo degli ultimi sviluppi della ricerca e delle prime applicazioni, corredate da esempi concreti dell’industria del packaging, della stampa e degli inchiostri, al fine di illustrare il reale rapporto costo-prestazione e gli effetti dell’impiego di nanomateriali sulla supply chain. Nanomaterials for the future - In order to better understand (and manage) the new application prospects opened by nanotechnologies, Pira proposes Future of Nanomaterials (London, 29th-30th June), a three-day conference entirely dedicated to market strategies most suitable for the “fruition” of this futuristic technology. The event will, as a matter of fact, provide a synthetic and complete picture of the latest developments in research and initial applications, complete with concrete examples of the packaging, printing and inks industry, with the aim of illustrating the actual cost-performance relationship and the effects of using nanomaterials within the supply chain.
