È l’ora di Ipex

| UANTEPRIMA Una fiera internazionale dedicata a trasformazione, cartotecnica, editoria e arti grafiche: il prossimo 4 aprile, a Birmingham, si aprono le porte di Ipex 2006. A.S. |
Birmingham si prepara ad accogliere, dal 4 all’11 aprile 2006, gli espositori e i visitatori di Ipex, l’evento dedicato a stampa, trasformazione, editoria e arti grafiche. Se la città inglese mette in campo un’ospitalità impeccabile e un quartiere fieristico (il NEC, National Exhibition Centre) ottimamente collegato all’aeroporto e al centro urbano, l’organizzatore della fiera (IIR Exhibitions Ltd) scommette invece sugli oltre 135.000 metri quadrati di superficie espositiva netta. Una rassegna davvero internazionale che riunisce circa 1.000 espositori (di cui il 60% non britannici) in undici padiglioni, per toccare con mano i progressi della tecnologia e vagliare materiali, macchine e sistemi destinati all’intero ciclo di produzione, dalla pre-stampa sino alla finitura.
Stimolare confronti
Il percorso all’interno della fiera prende avvio con il pre-media, la pre-stampa e il flusso di lavoro digitale, per poi proseguire attraverso le soluzioni dedicate alla stampa. A questo proposito, notiamo che la stampa digitale o la litografia non sono state separate in padiglioni a sé stanti: l’obiettivo, infatti, è quello di stimolare il visitatore a confrontare le prestazioni offerte da differenti tecnologie. Seguono le hall dedicate al dopo-stampa e alla trasformazione; quest’ultimo segmento, molto importante, occupa da solo il 16% dell’intera superficie di Ipex. Anche in questo caso, accogliendo un suggerimento espresso dagli espositori e potenziali visitatori, l’offerta specifica per il converting e l’imballaggio si alterna con le soluzioni per la finitura di documenti, rilegatoria, ecc. Sono state inoltre organizzate alcune zone speciali: vicino alle macchine da stampa, per esempio, è stata allestita un’area per i prodotti chimici, senza dimenticare i percorsi mirati per chi è interessato a flessografia o mailing.
La stampa intelligente
Più di trenta aziende, in particolare, partecipano a PrintCity, la “fiera nella fiera” allestita nel padiglione 1 di Ipex. L’obiettivo è promuovere una “stampa intelligente”, nella quale ogni fase della produzione risponda in modo automatico a quella che precede. Nel dettaglio, PrintCity si articola in diverse aree: Packaging Integration Centre (una linea completa di produzione di imballaggi, con lavorazioni armonizzate in un flusso di lavoro secondo lo standard JDF); Manufacturing Integration Centre (automazione, sistemi informativi, normative); Workflow Integration (integrazioni di attività automatizzate e processi produttivi); Colour Standardisation (standardizzazione del colore); Value Added Print & Processing Centre (dedicato tra l’altro a stampa e accoppiamento UV, anticontraffazione, procedure ottimali per stampa e trasformazione di imballaggi per alimenti); Webline Café (un’area di incontro per stampatori offset in bobina, editori e clienti finali, che possono confrontarsi sulle ultime tendenze di mercato).

Inchiostri e lastre
A Ipex 2006 fa il suo debutto Flint Group, nato di recente dal merger fra l’europea XSYS Print Solutions e l’americana Flint Ink Corporation. In mostra (5, G85), l’ampia gamma di inchiostri, lastre e servizi per la stampa.
• Flint Group Printing Plates, in particolare, presenta alcuni prodotti innovativi per la stampa tipografica e flessografica. Fra questi, ricordiamo il recente nyloflex® ACT, per applicazioni flexo di alta qualità, il nuovo nyloflex® Gold A digitale, il primo “coating plate” digitale, e nyloprint® WF blue, una lastra tipografica basata su foglio.
• XSYS Print Solutions Narrow Web Inks Division lancia l’inchiostro UV offset Lithocure 3G per il settore del narrow web. Si distingue per l’equilibrio ottimizzato inchiostro/acqua, l’eccellente stampabilità e la forza del colore; consente inoltre tempi di stampa più lunghi, scarti ridotti e una maggiore resa delle narrow web.
• Jetrion propone un’offerta completa di prodotti inkjet, servizi e soluzioni integrate ad alte prestazioni per i comparti stampa, trasformazione, imballaggio, grande formato e direct mailing. Da notare, infine, la 3025SA, il primo gruppo di riavvolgimento bobina integrato con un sistema di stampa UV inkjet.
Ink and plate products
Flint Group, created out of the merger of European-based XSYS Print Solutions and American-owned Flint Ink Corporation, makes its debut at Ipex 2006, presenting (5, G85) for the first time its combined portfolio of innovative ink and plate products and expert services.
• Flint Group Printing Plates will be presenting innovative products for flexographic and letterpress printing. Among them, we cite the recently-launched nyloflex® ACT, for high quality flexographic printing applications, the newly-announced nyloflex® Gold A digital, the first digital “coating plate” and the nyloprint® WF blue, a new foil-based letterpress plate.
• XSYS Print Solutions Narrow Web Inks Division is launching Lithocure 3G ink, a next-generation UV offset ink for the narrow web sector. Lithocure 3G ink has optimized ink/water balance, and provides excellent printability and color strength. This ink provides more press time, less waste and improved profitability for the narrow web printer.
• Jetrion presents a complete spectrum of inkjet products, services and custom high-performance integrated solutions for the printing, converting, packaging, wide-format and direct mail industries. Jetrion’s exhibit features the introduction of the 3025SA, the first stand-alone rewinder with an integrated UV inkjet printing system. |

Roto e flexo
Cmr Srl (progettazione e costruzione di macchine da stampa e converting) presenta l’ultima versione di Rotospeed all’Ipex (1, D35). Si tratta di una macchina rotocalco per imballaggio serie 3001 I.D. (asse ellettrico), dotata di lavaggio automatico dei cilindri stampa e gruppo inchiostrazione. L’evento di Birmingham costituisce inoltre l’occasione, per l’azienda di Paderno Dugnano (MI), di presentare sui mercati mondiali la nuova Flexoprint modulare, con gruppi stampa d’avanguardia e intercambiali. Riflettori puntati, infine, sulle macchine accoppiatrici “Triplex Coater”, arricchite dalla nuova Super Triplex Coater 2000.

Cmr Srl (engineering and manufacturing of printing presses and converting equipments) will be presenting the latest version of Rotospeed at Ipex, Birmingham (1, D35). The latest Rotospeed is a series 3001 I.D. with shaftless drive equipped with automatic print cylinder washing device and inking unit. For the Paderno Dugnano (Milan) based company, Ipex also constitutes ideal event to show the new modular Flexoprint with new cutting edge, easily interchangable printing decks. Qualche consiglio pratico
• Tutti coloro che faranno la pre-registrazione via Web potranno entrare gratis in fiera. Per informazioni: www.ipex.org.
• Il NEC (National Exhibition Centre) è adiacente all’aeroporto di Birmingham. Una navetta su monorotaia (Skytrain) consente di spostarsi, in pochi minuti, dal terminal all’atrio del NEC (“The Piazza”), con accesso diretto ai padiglioni 1-5.
• Il quartiere fieristico dispone di una propria stazione ferroviaria, con un collegamento ogni mezz’ora da/per Londra. Il treno, inoltre, costituisce il mezzo più rapido per raggiungere il centro di Birmingham.
• Il centro città sta diventando una sorta di “Ipex City”: ristoranti, bar e locali notturni di Birmingham stanno infatti mettendo a punto, in questi giorni, un pacchetto speciale di eventi e sconti per i visitatori della fiera.

It’s time for Ipex
PREVIEW - A very large show focussed on converting, graphics arts and publishing: Ipex 2006 opens its doors on 4 April 2006 at the NEC, Birmingham, UK. A.S.
Birmingham is getting ready to welcome the exhibitors and visitors at Ipex, the great printing, converting, publishing and graphic arts event to be held from 4th to 11th April 2006. If the English city is fielding its impeccable hospitality and a fair quarter (the NEC, National Exhibition Centre) well connected to the airport and the city centre, the fair organizer (IIR Exhibitions Ltd) is betting on the over 135,000 sq m of net exhibition space. Indeed a truly international show that brings together 1,000 exhibitors (60% of which from outside the UK) in eleven halls, providing a first hand look at technological progress and materials machines and systems for the entire production cycle, from pre-print up to finishing.
Stimulate exchanges
The show starts with the concept/imagery side including pre-media, pre-press and digital workflow. Then there are the halls which house the complete range of printing processes. In other words, instead of having a hall dedicated to digital printing and another to litho, there will be litho presses sitting across the aisle from digital presses. This means that visitors can not only check out the latest technology of the different output devices but actually draw comparisons. At the end of the workflow, there will be the area which will focus on post-press and converting. This forms a significant part of the exhibition, amounting to some 16 per cent of the entire floor space. Having listened to the exhibitors and potential visitors, organisers are including converting and packaging alongside document finishing, book binding and so on.
A number of individual zones are overlaid: within the printing machinery halls, for example, there is a zone for pressroom chemicals, while amongst the post-press exhibitors, there are zones which concentrate on flexo and mailing solutions, a new area for Ipex with a number of first time exhibitors.
Smart print
More than 30 member companies and associates are in PrintCity’s Hall 1, at Ipex. The ultimate goal is the “smart printing factory”, where each production step responds automatically to the outcome of the preceding one.
